‘Road to 2020’ Kicks Off UNLV Gaming & Hospitality Education Series 2019

The UNLV Gaming & Hospitality Education Series returns in 2019 for a second year, with a selection of cutting-edge topics that will uncover better solutions, more efficiency and create a more intelligent industry overall.

Each month, the UNLV Gaming & Hospitality Education Series picks a topic, creates several sessions and brings in expert speakers for a deep dive into the topic. Each episode is offered for in-person attendance at the International Gaming Institute at UNLV and for viewing either via live streaming or viewing the webcast at a later time.

With more interactivity that the standard conference program, the UNLV Gaming & Hospitality Education Series allows attendees to interact with the speakers, offering their views and opinions or asking the speakers for deeper explanations.

The UNLV Gaming & Hospitality Education Series debuts this year with a full-day episode, “The Road to 2020.” This special episode will examine the changes coming to Las Vegas that year in the morning session, and in the afternoon, there will be a roundup of changes that will begin to impact the gaming industry in 2020.

Just some of the topics covered will be the economic outlook for Las Vegas, presented by economist John Restrepo, the principal with RCG Economics. This will be followed up updates on massive projects that are scheduled to be completed in Las Vegas in 2020, including the Raiders stadium, the Las Vegas Convention Center, and new casino resort projects like Resorts World Las Vegas, the Drew, Circa, and an innovative shopping/entertainment experience called Area 15.

A lunch featuring a keynote speaker will be followed by a session explaining the “new casino floor,” which will reveal how the gaming area will change with operators, architects and designers to chime in. A session that will examine how to create a unique experience by building themed events will follow and the day will wrap up with an examination of the increasing role of women in the industry, presented by Global Gaming Women.
