Roar Digital, the joint venture between MGM Resorts International and GVC Holdings, launched the BetMGM mobile sports betting app in Indiana Thursday.
The app comes courtesy of an agreement with Boyd Gaming Corp., which operates the Belterra Resort and Blue Chip Hotel Casino in Indiana.
“Introducing BetMGM in Indiana is a significant development for Roar Digital and MGM Resorts,” MGM Resorts President of Interactive Gaming Scott Butera said in a press release. “Indiana has a rich history in professional and amateur sports and a strong fan base. We believe that the sports betting opportunities offered by BetMGM will be well-received.”
BetMGM, which also operates in New Jersey and West Virginia, marks the fifth mobile sports betting app in Indiana. Sportsbooks in the state took in $170.8 million in wagers in January, a 5.6 percent increase over December.
“Indiana marks an incredibly important expansion for us as we look to solidify our presence in the Midwest and continue to bring BetMGM to new states in the U.S.,” said Roar Digital CEO Adam Greenblatt.
