RSCVA CEO, Who Faced Misconduct Charges, Resigns

Phil DeLone, CEO of the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority and a former Bally’s sales executive, resigned February 19, citing medical reasons.

According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, his resignation coincided with an investigation into on-the-job misconduct, and took place one day after a follow-up by the RGJ found that he had been “the subject of workplace complaints in at least three of his last four jobs,” including Bally’s Reno hotel-casino and Safari Club International in Arizona.

Both instances led to lawsuits against DeLone and his employers. The Safari Club and DeLone won the Arizona case, and the Reno case was “likely settled,” the publication reported.

The convention authority released a statement saying, “The RSCVA wishes Mr. DeLone well as he addresses his medical needs.”
