Rules Changes Proposed In Deadwood

A public hearing will be held Tuesday, March 27 at the Deadwood City Hall regarding proposed rules changes at the city’s casinos.

The proposed new rules include:

  • Requiring dealers to enforce bet limits;
  • Clarifying responsibilities for pit bosses who oversee table games;
  • Requiring signage stating players must be at least age 21 to gamble;
  • Clarifying procedures for industry requests regarding bet limits;
  • Clarifying slot machines that award $12,000 or more require video surveillance; and
  • Reviewing new variations of poker and blackjack.

Comments also may be sent to the commission office in Pierre at 445 East Capitol Avenue, Pierre, South Dakota 57501 by Friday, March 23, or emailed to larry.eliason@state.sd.us by Monday, March 26.
