Indiana permits wagers on pro and college sports, auto racing, boxing and more.

Rush Street Debuts Indiana’s First Mobile Sportsbook

Indiana has launched its first mobile sportsbook with a platform called BetRivers. The platform, available through in.betrivers.com, comes courtesy of Rush Street Interactive, a player in New Jersey and Pennsylvania online sports betting markets. RSI is an offshoot of Rush Street Gaming, which has land based casinos in Pennsylvania, Illinois and New York.

In Indiana, Rush Street partnered with locally owned French Lick Resort.

“Our experience and success in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York allows us to zero in on what players want—a massive range of sports betting options, through reliable and scalable technology, with responsive customer service and fast payouts,” said Richard Schwartz, president of Rush Street Interactive.

RSI opted for the BetRivers brand in Indiana. It also uses the Play SugarHouse brand in Pennsylvania, which has SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia.

Indiana is allowing wagers on dozens of professional, collegiate and international events, including football, basketball, baseball, auto racing, hockey, soccer, boxing, golf and Olympic competitions. No betting is allowed on high school or youth sporting events, or eSports.

Sara Gonso Tait, executive director of the Indiana Gaming Commission, said approval for the state’s next mobile wagering operator is likely weeks away and that process depends on how quickly companies request the commission’s review. Tait said the sportsbook areas at the casinos have been busy and without troubles so far.

Sports betting at brick and mortar locations began in September at 10 of Indiana’s 13 state-regulated casinos and all three off-track betting parlors.

RSI, which functions as French Lick’s retail betting partner, said that it will be offering a match bonus up to $250 on a player’s first deposit. There’s a 1x play-through requirement. French Lick’s retail book opened in early September.

“We are excited to make history in the state of Indiana,” Schwartz said in Hoosierstatebets.  “As a Chicago-based business and affiliate of Rivers Casino in Illinois, we are proud to expand our trust into Indiana. We are thankful for the Indiana Gaming Commission giving Rush Street Interactive their vote of confidence and authorizing us to launch online sports betting in the state.”

RSI’s sports betting odds come from Kambi. DraftKings which struck a deal with Ameristar East Chicago, also expected to launch last week. Penn National Gaming operates the property.

Other online/mobile sportsbooks hope to debut this fall, including platforms from FanDuel, Caesars Interactive Entertainment, and William Hill.
