Russia Kicks off Second TSUPIS

Russia has launched its second TSUPIS payment processing system for online gaming transactions. The first system, from bookmakers association First SRO, became operational last February.

The second payment processing system for online gaming has kicked off in Russia. The government-established TSUPIS system was first introduced last February by bookmakers association First SRO, reported the Asia Gaming Brief.

The inaugural system now has 540,000 identified users working with four major bookmakers. The second TSUPIS, previously in testing, started operations in late December and includes two Russian bookmakers, Fonbet and Leon, members of the Bookmakers Self-Regulatory Organization.

“Qiwi has notified the Federal Tax Service of the launch of TSUPIS powered by Kiwi-Bank in November 2016. TSUPIS is now functioning in the full mode. It currently has over 30,000 identified users in addition to Qiwi’s current database,” a QIWI spokesperson told Betting Business Russia last month.

In related news, Russian sports website Championat.com has reported that bookmakers Olimp and Baltbet have also joined the new TSUPIS.Olimp holds licenses to operate in Kazakhstan, South Africa, Montenegro and Russia, where it runs about 50 betting shops.Baltbet has about 800 betting shops in Russia.
