Twentieth Century Fox World also in the works
Resorts World Genting will open an indoor theme park, SkyTropolis, in February 2018, the company has announced. The theme park is part of Resorts World’s RM10.38 billion (US$2.54 billion) renovation of the integrated resort, which also includes more mainstream attractions and upgraded hotels, reports GGRAsia.
An outdoor theme park that closed almost five years ago is also set reopen in 2018 as the world’s first Twentieth Century Fox World theme park; it’s due to open in late 2018.
Resorts World executive Ajay Sharma told TravelBizMonitor.com says the improvements will draw more Indian visitors. “As we are expecting to push the number of overall visitors to 30 million by 2020, and India being among our top four markets in terms of foreign arrivals, we are expecting around 300,000 visitors from India as staying guests.” The percentage of Indian visitors is expected to gradually increase after the opening of Twentieth Century Fox World.
The outdoor theme park will include 25 rides and attractions based on Hollywood movies such as “Rio,” “Ice Age,” “Alien v. Predator” and others.
