A new five-story hotel and addition to the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino, near Standish, Arenac County, Michigan, is rising, with a completion date of September 2019 expected.
The expansion, at about the halfway point, is being done by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. The ceremony celebrating the final piece of steel being set in place was held July 11.
The 138,000 square foot expansion will include a hotel with 148 rooms, retail shopping, an expanded gaming floor that will be able to host 400 more slots, and a full-service restaurant.
It will accommodate guests who want to stay at a hotel as well as play at a casino.
The casino first opened in 2007. About 1 million guests visit annually.
