The 21st edition of the SAGSE Latin America trade show opened last week in Buenos Aires, Argentina, amid a crisis in the local market as international companies are reducing their commitment to the market.
The show was smaller than in the past, with several top international companies absent. Top suppliers like Konami, IGT and Aristocrat, however, were on hand with displays at the show. Its organizer, Monografie, focused on this fact in promoting the show.
“SAGSE is the most international exhibition in Latin America and the most important event for the regional market,” said Giorgio Gennari Litta, director of the show. “International operators and manufacturers attend our show with the aim of doing business and enjoying a few days in the beautiful Argentine capital of Buenos Aires.”
Monografie posed the local crises as a starting point for better days ahead. “Crisis represents opportunity,: said SAGSE Latin America Commercial and Show Manager Alan Burak, “and many companies have understood that this is a moment for great opportunity. There is something that should never be forgotten: SAGSE is not just a country, it is Latin America, and it is a mandatory event for all regional operators.”
SAGSE is preparing to open a 22nd edition, “seeking to reaffirm its leadership as one of the greatest international events on the global gaming calendar of events,” said the organizers. “On top of expecting the presence of the gaming industry, it will be a year full of exclusive events for the sector, such as the first edition of SAGSE University, JCM training, Global Gaming Women and many more surprises.”
