The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new five-story, 148-room hotel and expanded gaming floor with room for 400 slots at its Saganing Eagles Landing Casino in Standish, Arenac County, Michigan. The project is expected to be completed in early 2019.

Chief Frank Cloutier said, “This expansion further solidifies our presence in our aboriginal territory and shows our commitment to the community and economic growth for the region. I am very proud of our abilities and our staff for all that they do to make the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino one of the most preferred places to visit. Thank you to all of our patrons for your visits and soon to be your play-and-stay experience. There are so many possibilities for a brighter future and with continued collaboration we will look forward to enjoying them together.”

Opened in 2007, the casino offers more than 800 slots and electronic gaming tables. It generated $120 million for the tribe during its first two years of operation. The tribe annually shares 2 percent of its net proceeds with the state.

The 2,400-member tribe also operates the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mount Pleasant.
