San Manuel Casino in Southern California that has opened a new steampunk-themed high limit room. If you are unclear what steampunk décor is, think Jules Verne and “20th Leagues Under the Sea.”
The high limit room is designed to take visitors to a retro future time that never existed, but which is loads of fun. Dubbed the Vault Gaming and Provisions, it opened May 29. It is festooned with 19th century industrial steam powered gadgets, moving gears, wheels, pipes and copper and gold metal furnishings.
It is equipped with 185 high-limit slots and eight table games and an on-site concierge.
It is located in what was once a vacant space on the second floor behind a set of elevators. So the space was already next to the elevators mechanical parts normally hidden from the public.
The casino management noticed that although it had many slots, its high limit rooms were reaching their capacity. So they decided to add more high roller space.
Eventually San Manuel will have four high limit rooms. One of them will be the Asian-themed Lotus 8 Palace. This is part of a $550 million expansion that San Manuel is in the midst of. It will include a six story parking structure and 3,000 seat indoor entertainment venue that will be completed by 2021.
