Pennsylvania’s Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, having already lured many New York high rollers who formerly gambled in Atlantic City, has institutionalized its effort to steal high-end table play from the struggling Atlantic City casinos.
The casino announced that it will open an office in Northfield, New Jersey, an Atlantic City suburb, with the sole purpose of luring Atlantic City’s biggest table-game players to the Sands.
“Sands Bethlehem hopes to draw players from the affluent Atlantic City market and believes that this new office will help ease the transition from Atlantic City to Sands Bethlehem,’ Sands spokeswoman Megan Verholy told the Allentown Morning Call. “Located at this office will be Sands Bethlehem Player Development Directors Denise Eshelman, Al Leckerman, and Jules Vorndran.”
The Sands is Pennsylvania’s most successful generator of table game revenue, partly because of the area’s easy access to New York City.
