Pennsylvania’s Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem is catering to its large contingent of Asian high-rollers from the New York area by adding what will be the largest stadium-style setup of electronic table games in the U.S.
The Sands made a presentation before the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board last week outlining what would be the multimillion-dollar Live Dealer Electronic Game Stadium, in an area currently occupied by a casino bar. The stadium setup would be similar to what exists in Macau and other Asian markets.
Live dealers would man several table games, and the games would be beamed by video to individual play stations in the surrounding “stadium.” Players will be able to wager on several different live table games at once. The Sands’ proposal is for 150 betting terminals surrounding games that would be manned by 20 to 25 dealers. According to the casino, lower minimum bets would be offered than the live games in the pit.
