6-5 payouts cut winning potential
The Las Vegas Sands Corp. “has slashed player returns on most of its Las Vegas blackjack games,” according to USpoker.com.
The Sands’ two Sin City resorts, the Venetian and the Palazzo, have notified customers through signage at the properties that all natural blackjacks now pay 6-5, meaning players dealt a natural blackjack will only receive $12 for every $10 they bet, rather than the traditional $15 payout.
The change “makes these two Las Vegas Sands properties among the worst places to play six-deck blackjack on the Strip,” the website said. “Players looking for a 3-2 six-deck blackjack game at Venetian or Palazzo will need to visit the high limit salon where the minimum bet is at least $100 and often in the $200 range.”
The new rules also put the house advantage at 1.98 percent, the website reported.
