The former Saratoga Casino and Raceway in Saratoga Springs, NY, now is named the Saratoga Casino Hotel, in advance the opening of its 117-room hotel expansion in the coming weeks.
The name change is part of a rebranding effort that reflects the casino’s transformation into a comprehensive, modern destination.
“The addition of the hotel and its amenities, including Morton’s The Steakhouse, creates an entertainment experience unmatched in the region,” Saratoga Casino Hotel Senior Vice President of Marketing Rita Cox said. “Our new brand is a product of this transformation, highlighting that we are a complete entertainment destination within the already world-famous tourist destination that is Saratoga Springs.”
The $40 million, 123,000-square-foot hotel is set to open this July and features 117 luxury rooms and suites, located near the casino floor and harness track. Amenities include Morton’s The Steakhouse and lobby bar, Perks Café, an indoor pool with spa whirlpool, outdoor terrace, fitness center, and a flexible, 3,000-square-foot ballroom for private events.
The hotel’s premium rooms and suites are named after the raceway’s founders and longtime president, Roland Harriman, Dunbar Bostwick, and Ernest Morris. Suites feature large bay windows, many overlooking the harness track, and guests can watch and wager on live harness racing from every room in the hotel.
“We view the hotel as a natural next step for this property,” Cox said. “Racing began here 75 years ago, and we haven’t stopped growing and evolving since then. Our new brand reflects our commitment to providing new amenities and entertainment opportunities for our guests, with racing always at the core of who we are.”
Supporting the new brand is a new website, plus TV, radio, and billboard advertising for Saratoga Casino Hotel.
The hotel is hiring 100 people and scheduled a job fair May 16 inside Vapor from 2 pm until 6. Openings will include banquet staff, cooks and wait staff at Morton’s The Steakhouse, hotel front desk staff, and room attendants. On-the-spot interviews will be conducted.
The Saratoga Casino Hotel features more than 1,700 slots, electronic table games, Vapor, two full-service restaurants with buffets, a casual dining restaurant, three full-service bars, a deli, and a variety of guest services.
