Saskatchewan Casinos Closed by Covid

Saskatchewan, Canada’s casinos and bingo halls will close this week as part of the latest Covid-19 restrictions.

Saskatchewan Gaming Corp. spokeswoman Shanna Schulhauser commented, “It’s fair to say that this is difficult news for everyone, especially as we head into the holiday season.”

She added, “Right now, we’re focused on making sure that we as a Corp. are doing the right thing to support the response to this pandemic. Central to that is listening to and acting on the direction of our chief medical health officer.”

This order is different from the one issued in March; it comes with an end date of January 15. Casinos have been able to operate safely, she said, and there were only two occasions where casinos were associated with Covid exposures, one in October and one this month.
