Czech billionaire Karel Komarek is working to take the gambling group Sazka Group public as early as this year. The IPO would be backed by Apollo Global Management Inc. His holding company KKCG Group AS is working with advisors on the plan.

Sazka operates lotteries in the Czech Republic, Austria, Greece, Cyprus, and Italy. Its lotteries accounted for $8 billion in bets through scratchers, sports wagering and online betting.

Komarek is alleged to have a net worth of about $3 billion.
