The SBC Summit North America, formerly Betting on Sports America (BOSA) is scheduled to take place November 30 through December 2 at the Meadowland Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, according to London-based event organizer SBC.
According to SBC founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark, the rebranding was a result of the greater emphasis on iGaming and mobile sports betting.
“We have seen that iGaming really grew in the U.S. over the last couple of years,” Sojmark said. “We just feel that Betting on Sports America will really benefit from including the option of iGaming into the mix as well, to have broader coverage on the content side and also bring in people to meet suppliers from the iGaming side. “
SBC Summit North America. Another event, SBC Digital North American, an online conference and expo, will occur June 9-10.
The SBC Summit initially was set to take place in June, but was pushed back due to the lingering Covid-19 pandemic. Sojmark said he hopes the live show, which was cancelled completely in 2020, will go on as schedule.
“It certainly is important to be there in person,” he said. “It’s difficult to facilitate that same experience on camera.” He added that virtual events can provide opportunities “at a fraction of the cost. I think it’s absolutely worthwhile for sponsors.” The SBC Digital North America will take place June 9-10. For information on both events and others in markets around the world, visit SBCEvents.com.
