Scientific Games Corp. has been named one of the 2020 Top 10 Innovative Companies in Georgia by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), a 30,000-member organization connecting Georgia’s tech ecosystem and advancing the state’s innovation economy.

Scientific Games, with a location in Alpharetta, Georgia, reached the Top 10 after being named to the Top 40 for the fourth time in five years. The company was recognized for leadership in modernizing the global lottery industry by continual large-scale innovation projects with its lottery-retailer and systems technology, digital platforms and games, and sports betting technology, according to the company.

“Georgia has emerged as a leading technology hotbed on the East Coast of the U.S. and Scientific Games is using tech innovation to enhance the entertainment experience for lottery players and responsibly maximize profits for lottery beneficiaries, such as education and social programs,” said Scientific Games Lottery Group Chief Executive Pat McHugh.

McHugh will make a brief presentation on Scientific Games’ innovation with other Top 10 Innovative Companies at TAG’s Summit 2020, to be held March 3-4 at the Cobb Galleria Center in Atlanta.

“The 2020 Top 10 companies represent the best and brightest in our state for innovation and are leading the way in highlighting Georgia as a global leader in transformational technology,” said Larry K. Williams, president and CEO of TAG.

Scientific Games is a business partner to more than 150 lotteries worldwide, including the Georgia Lottery. Its products have generated more than $10 billion in funding for the state of Georgia’s educational programs.
