Scott Kreeger is something of a turnaround expert. After a solid career with Station Casinos, he accepted a job running the ill-fated Revel casino in Atlantic City. Though he created substantial new revenue at the property, it wasn’t enough to save if from closing, and it has yet to reopen.
His next stop was SLS Las Vegas, where he stepped in when former Wynn executive Rob Oseland resigned as CEO to take a position at the nascent Alon project, which itself was in the news last week. Kreeger turned around the SLS in difficult times following the removal of founder Sam Nazarian from property ownership and leadership.
During his two-year tenure, Scott led a dynamic transformation of the resort, which included launching a new casino loyalty program; developing and opening the Foundry, a much-lauded live entertainment venue; and bringing the world-renowned W Hotels brand to Las Vegas with the opening of W Las Vegas on December 1st.
Now, Kreeger is stepping down to accept a position with another gaming company, as yet unannounced.
Terry Fancher, executive managing director of Stockbridge Capital Partners, the owners of SLS, said, “We thank Scott for his enormous contributions over the past two years and wish him great success in the exciting new opportunity he has accepted. We expect to announce a new leader for the resort shortly.”
Kreeger credited hard work by employees for his success.
“It has been an honor to represent the employees of SLS Las Vegas, who work tirelessly to provide a wonderfully unique experience for our guests. Our recent partnership with Marriott and W Hotels is the perfect complement to our highly acclaimed culinary and entertainment offerings.”
