Seattle Police Warn of Robbers Targeting Casino Patrons

Seattle police last week warned visitors to local casinos that they might be the targets of armed robbers. Several times in past weeks police have responded to robberies where the victims were leaving a casino.

SPD Public Information Officer Judinna Gulpan told reporters, “It is something that we want the community to be aware of and we want our public safety concerns to be addressed, and we want to do what we can to assure that.”

One of the victims was an 81-year-old woman who was followed home after leaving the Muckleshoot Casino. She was beaten and robbed of over $1,000.

The police suggested that people leaving the casino be aware of their surroundings and don’t walk while using the phone or other distractions.
