Seminole Tribe Donates to Support Surfside Fund

The Seminole Tribe’s Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming gave $250,000 to the Support Surfside Fund to help people affected by the Champlain Tower collapse (l.). The fund’s total has reached $2,250,000.

Seminole Tribe Donates to Support Surfside Fund

The Seminole Tribe’s Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming made a cash donation of $250,000 to the Support Surfside Fund, which will assist people impacted by the collapse of Champlain Towers.

Seminole Tribe of Florida Chairman Marcellus Osceola Jr. said, “This is a terrible tragedy, and our hearts go out to the many people affected by it. The Seminole Tribe pledges to marshal our resources and do everything we can to help.”

Hard Rock International Chairman and Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen added, “In keeping with one of Hard Rock’s founding mottos of ‘Take Time to Be Kind,’ Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming team members want to do something meaningful to help people affected by this tragic event Our Support Surfside Program is about reaching out to our neighbors in need and extending a helping hand.”

As part of the Support Surfside Program, all Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming restaurants, retail shops and hotels are asking guests if they’d like to round up purchases to the next dollar, with all proceeds going to the Support Surfside Fund. Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming team members’ contributions will be matched by Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming.

In addition, employees at Hard Rock Cafe Miami at Bayside Marketplace launched a weeks-long program to prepare and deliver 100 dinners for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue professionals at the site.

The Support Surfside Fun was created by the Coral Gables Community Foundation, Key Biscayne Community Foundation, Miami Foundation, Knight Foundation, Miami Heat and the Miami Heat Charitable Fund. With the donation from Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming, the fund has received contributions of more than $2,250,000.
