George Kidd recently was named chief executive at the UK-based Senet Group, an independent body established by many of the gaming industry’s leading operators to promote responsible gambling standards and ensure marketing of gambling is socially responsible. Kidd replaces Ron Finlay who left Senet in April.
Kidd brings to his new position an extensive background in regulatory and self-regulatory organizations. He was chief executive of PhonepayPlus and the Online Dating Association, and chair of the Direct Marketing Commission. He also held non-executive roles in charitable fundraising self-regulation, and served as British Consul in Chicago for the Cabinet Office and the Foreign Office.
Kidd said, “I am delighted to be joining Senet. The sector is taking the issue of responsible gambling seriously as is clear from the impressive work to address this across its advertising, its support for Senet’s own campaigns and joint work on a self-exclusion scheme.”
