Following an extensive search and interview process, Pamela Gallegos recently was named chief executive officer for Shoshone-Bannock Gaming Operations and the Shoshone-Bannock Hotel and Event Center in Fort Hall, Idaho.

An Albuquerque, New Mexico native, Gallegos has managed and helped to open Native American resorts. In regard to the new Fort Hall casino now under construction and set to open this summer, Tribal Chairman Nathan Small said, “Her extensive experience and expertise operating tribal gaming operations will help keep our operation successful.” Gallegos also has managed ski resorts and hunting lodges.

Gallegos taught resort management at the University of Phoenix, and said she plans to educate tribal members and East Idaho residents about hotel operations to help the local economy. “There is no reason why we can’t start programs here. Graphic Art Design is one for instance. We outsource a lot of stuff to a lot of people out of state, but why not keep that work here? Train people here, and make sure we are providing jobs,” Gallegos said. She added the new casino “is just the start of what is to come.”
