Showboat Atlantic City Reopens

Developer Bart Blatstein (l.) has put the former Showboat casino back into action on Atlantic City’s Boardwalk with a “soft” opening of the property’s hotel and some restaurants, retail, and entertainment venues. The re-opened property, however, does not include a casino and Blatstein has said he does not intend to add one.

Developer Bart Blatstein has re-opened the former Showboat casino on Atlantic City’s Boardwalk as a non-casino hotel.

Blatstein’s Tower Investments announced a “soft” opening of a revitalized Showboat Hotel for July 8, The property re-opened 852 oceanfront room and suites, including 38 1,100 –square-foot oceanfront balcony suites, the company said in a press release.

Blatstein has said he does not plan to re-open a casino at the property.

The balcony suites will include 1.5 bathrooms, a living and dining area, wet bar with fridge and Jacuzzi tubs. The hotel will also include two 1,900-square-foot oceanfront Super Suites that will offer the same plush amenities as the balcony suites, as well as a gas fireplace. ACSB Hospitality will manage the property, the release said.

According to the release, the hotel will offer a full service bar named Worship Surf Bar on States Ave., the Canal Street coffeehouse featuring quality, fresh brewed coffee and fine pastries and the Atlantic City Eatery (ACE) that will serve all-American food and drink for breakfast, lunch and dinner and more.
