Singapore Casinos Penalized For Breaches

The Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore fined Marina Bay Sands $65,000 for letting four people stay in its casino after their 24-hour entry levies expired, and letting two with exclusion orders to enter. Resorts World Sentosa received letters of censure for allowing two people without valid entry levies to enter its casino.

Breaches of social safeguards led the Singapore Casino Regulatory Authority to issue fines of ,000 against Marina Bay Sands ,000 and to issue two letters of censure to Resorts World Sentosa. The breaches were reported or detected between July 1 and December 31, 2013, regulators said.

MBS was fined $20,000 for allowing four Singaporeans and permanent residents to remain on its casino premises after their 24-hour entry levies had expired. Foreigners not have pay the 24-hour entry levy of $100, which is meant to keep citizens and permanent residents from visiting the casinos too frequently. MBS was fined another $45,000 for allowing two people with exclusion orders to enter its casino.

RWS was censured for allowing two Singaporeans without valid entry levies to enter its casino.
