Sky Betting & Gaming Reports Growth

Sky Betting & Gaming reported strong growth for the year ending June 30 and promised further growth. The company saw a 64 percent increase in sports betting and 36 percent growth in online betting.

Revenues at Sky Betting & Gaming were up 51 percent for the year ended June 30, even though the company acknowledged “unprecedented pay-outs” following Leicester City winning the Premier League title.

The company reported growth across all divisions. Sky Bet’s sports-betting division saw revenue rise 64 percent to £214m, up from £130m 2015. Online gaming revenue also increased by 36 percent to £159.5m.

The company said it attracted 31 percent more customers than last year, and is now serving 1.95 million players.

“2015/16 has been another excellent year for the business and we are pleased to have delivered this strong performance despite some unprecedented pay-outs including an extremely generous Cheltenham Festival offer and a pay-out of around £5m on Leicester City winning the Premier League,” said Richard Flint, CEO of Sky Betting & Gaming. “We have continued to invest in both our technology and mobile platforms from our base in Yorkshire and our Super 6 product has successfully launched in Italy since the period end. Our strong momentum has continued into the current financial year and we are excited about the opportunities ahead both in the UK and internationally.”
