Smoke Clears for Sands, MGM Macau

Sands China Ltd. and MGM China Holdings Ltd., two United States gaming operators in Macau, have been found not guilty of breaking the city’s anti-smoking law.

Casinos run by Sands China Ltd. and MGM China Holdings Ltd. have been found not guilty of violating anti-smoking laws at their operations in Macau in two separate cases. The Macau Health Bureau announced the decision after government investigations into the Venetian Macao, a Sands property, and MGM Macau. Workers had complained about alleged smoking inside those casinos.

Smoking on main casino floors in Macau is currently only allowed in airport-style enclosed smoking lounges without gaming tables or slot machines, reported GGRAsia.
