Genting Casino in Southampton in the U.K. will be expanding to the second floor from a gaming center that currently operates on one floor in Terminus Terrace, the Daily Echo reported May 4.
Ten jobs will be created by the expansion in the building, which started life as a railway station that opened in 1840. It is currently vacant office space. Also added will be a bar on the first floor.
According to a planning statement obtained by the Daily Echo, “The development proposals will provide an increased and improved space for the existing casino, as well as enhanced staff facilities and staff offices.”
The statement continued, “The development proposal will also preserve the listed building by returning the building to full occupation and in a commercially viable use, and through the internal alterations which will help sustain the longevity of the building fabric.”
