Spain: iGaming Revenues up 13.7 Percent

In 2020, the online gaming market in Spain it grew 13.7 percent over the year before, for more than $1 billion in revenues. According to BtoBet, sports betting accounted for 42.92 percent of the gross.

Spain’s online gaming market passed €850.7m ($1.027 billion) in 2020 a 13.7 percent increase over the year before.

According to BtoBet, sports betting accounted for 42.92 percentage of the gross revenue, although it was a 3.48 percent decrease in the amount of betting. This resulted from less in-play sports betting and pre-match sports betting due to Covid.

With the increased popularity of online gaming, a new Royal Decree instituted more consumer protections, including stricter regulation of gaming advertisement on all media.
