Spanish Trade Group to Back ‘Drastic’ Reforms

Spanish gaming trade association Cejuego says it supports “drastic measures” to reform the country’s gaming industry. Association members include Codere, Cirsa, Grupo Orenes and R. Franco.

Spanish gaming trade association Cejuego has announced it will back “drastic measures” to reform the country’s gaming industry, especially on the marketing side. The association counts gaming operators Codere, Cirsa, Grupo Orenes and R. Franco among its members.

Cejuego President Alejandro Landaluce said it has “repeatedly asked different governments” for reforms on the marketing of gaming activities. Last November, Spanish iGaming operators agreed to a new self-enforced “code-of-conduct” mandate developed by trade body jDigital, designed to establish new marketing standards and significantly lower betting advertising.

According to SBC News, Cejuego has also shown support for gaming regulatory supervision being transferred to Spain’s Department of Consumer Affairs, “so long as legal certainty is strengthened for the development of our business activities.”
