In Terre Haute, Indiana, representatives from Spectacle Entertainment updated Vigo County officials about their proposed $125 million casino—Rocksino by Hard Rock. Spectacle Vice President John Keeler said the 100,000-square-foot venue would provide 600 new jobs.

Spectacle is competing with Full House Resorts for the Vigo County gaming license. The Indiana Gaming Commission closed applications on December 2. Applicants paid a $50,000 fee. The chosen developer will pay a $5 million licensing fee and invest a minimum of $100 million on the new casino. The license is expected to be awarded in first quarter 2020. Keeler said Spectacle’s projections estimate Rocksino by Hard Rock would generate $9-$10 million annually for local governments and nonprofits.

Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce President Kristin Craig said she has formed a group of local officials to review a local development agreement between Spectacle and the city. Under the agreement, a 5-member foundation would annually distribute an estimated $3 million in casino funds.
