Spin Games’ ‘Respin’ Gains Steam

Respin, the joint-venture project between Nektan and Reno-based Spin Games to add wheels to legacy slot machines, is picking up steam in the U.S.

Mobile gaming content supplier Nektan announced that its joint venture with Reno-based Spin Games, dubbed “Respin,” is picking up steam in the U.S.

Respin is a venture to add bonus wheels—the product is called “Xtraspin”—to existing slot machines on casino floors, giving new life to older slot games. Bonus wheels with slices awarding progressives, credits and multipliers have been installed in 12 casinos across California and Nevada, the company said.

There are now a total of 74 wheels now operational, compared to just 25 in June. According to the Respin partners, operators have seen the amount of coins added to the machines rise by 30 percent on slot machines with Xtraspin wheels.

“Respin continues to strengthen its performance in the U.S., with the uplift in revenues experienced by casino partners with Xtraspin wheels underlining the significant commercial opportunities which are further reflected in the continued growth of its casino contract pipeline,” said Gary Shaw, chairman of Nektan.

A further 22 casinos have signed contracts or letters of intent with Nektan in the U.S. for 130 Xtraspin wheels, Shaw said.

“It is highly encouraging to see the Xtraspin product gaining significant traction, and further significant rollout of the product will aid growth,” said a report by Broker Northland Capital. “Investors will be looking to see whether management is able to deliver on significant growth in the new financial, which given today’s statement the business has made a good start to the new year.”
