Sportech Announces Connecticut Milestones

Sportech announced that it has completed a major upgrade of its MyWinners.com website for Connecticut race wagering, and opened a new OTB facility in Bradley.

U.K.-based online betting operator Sportech announced two events it calls “milestones” in its horse race-wagering business in Connecticut—an upgrade of its wagering website and the opening of a new off-track betting facility in Bradley.

Sportech Venues, owner and operator of Winners betting and entertainment venues in the state, has completed a major upgrade of its MyWinners.com website. Launched in 2013, MyWinners.com is the only legal horse racing betting website in Connecticut.

Sportech Venues said the website updates include an improved interface that will enhance the betting experience of customers. The firm is now planning a marketing drive to promote its online service.

In addition, Sportech Venues has also announced that it is to open a new flagship sports bar, restaurant and betting venue in Bradley, Connecticut.

Customers at the new 300-person venue will be able to bet on horse and greyhound racing, as well access various facilities including a golf simulator, meeting room and 70 large-screen televisions.

“Since buying our U.S. business three years ago, our considerable investment in people, facilities and customers has enabled Sportech to turn around a declining business into one that is growing,” said Ian Penrose, CEO of Sportech. “The development of our business in Connecticut, alongside our extensive betting services business, is an important part of our U.S. strategy, and opening the new facility at Bradley and upgrading MyWinners.com are significant steps forward.”
