Sportech has informed investors that it is on schedule to complete its £83 million sale of The Football Pools to London private equity firm OpCapita by June 8.
The company said the OpCapita special vehicle ‘FP Acquisitions Limited’ has been approved for a betting operator license by the UK Gambling Commission.
“We are pleased to have secured licensing so that we are able to move forward with our plans for the Football Pools. We look forward to taking ownership of the business later next month,” OpCapita Founder & Chief Executive Henry Jackson said in a press release early last week.
In a March corporate update, Sportech officials said funds from the sale would be used to expand its growing US Racing & Digital division.
