FanDuel and Sportradar signed a deal with the NBA to provide official data through the end of the 2030-31 season. In addition to the data, Sportradar will supply supplementary betting services to FanDuel, according to Asia Gaming Brief.
This collaboration will generate new products and offerings, including utilizing player data tracking to develop props and same-game parlays.
FanDuel became the first North American sports betting operator to rely on Sportradar’s official NBA data in the wake of the November 2021 partnership between Sportradar and the NBA. As such, FanDuel gains access to tools from live match trackers to betting widgets.
FanDuel also gains entry to Sportradar’s proprietary Live Channel Trading for in-play trading. Every match gets transmitted using Sportradar’s in-house Video Delivery Network, a live video streaming system that provides audio-visual feeds up to eight seconds faster than any TV broadcaster.
“We are thrilled to … evolve and grow the skyrocketing market for sports betting in the U.S., while continuing to monetize our long-term partnership with the NBA,” said Carsten Koerl, CEO of Sportradar.
For FanDuel, it was important that its obligation to NBA basketball and its data be linked to substantial reinvestment in new products and enhancements, said Christian Genetski, president, FanDuel Group. “We’re excited to continue our long-term relationship with Sportradar, as their comprehensive data is a critical element to a successful customer experience and one we now have long-term stability with moving forward.”
Sportradar’s agreement with the NBA makes it the exclusive worldwide supplier of NBA, WNBA and NBA G League data from the 2023-24 season and through the 2030-31 season.
