FIFA has brought in Sportradar Integrity Services to monitor betting on soccer matches and help increase the integrity of the game.
Sportradar will use its Fraud Detection System to identify and analyze suspicious betting patterns across both international and domestic competitions around the world.
FIFA said it will work closely with the six continental confederations—CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, CAF, UEFA, the AFC and the OFC—that comprise FIFA’s member associations and release findings to the appropriate members.
The monitoring will cover FIFA tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup™ and its qualifiers, the FIFA Confederations Cup, the Olympic Football Tournaments and youth competitions, as well as national leagues and confederation-run competitions, according to a press release.
Sportradar will also offer fraud prevention services and provide a program of educational workshops to players, coaches and staff on protecting against fraud.
