Sportradar’s partnership with the NBA is about to get a huge upgrade. Today, the company announced a suite of enhancements to its product line geared toward NBA fans and bettors.
The improved Sportradar NBA product suite includes the following enhancements:
– Virtualizes Live Match Tracker
– 4Sight Streaming
– NBA Advanced Visualizations
– emBET
Here’s a look at each of the upgrades:
Virtualized Match Tracker: This feature collects NBA data and creates a real-time 3D visualization of the court personalized to each user. The stream is completely customizable, allowing bettors to choose their viewing angles and track live betting opportunities. The Virtualized Match Tracker can be integrated directly into an operator’s platform.
4Sight Streaming: Sportradar launched this feature earlier in 2024 for tennis, and it’s now bringing the technology to the NBA. 4Sight generates animated overlays and insights to help bettors make informed decisions based on in-game data and predictions.
NBA Advanced Visualizations: This product further enhances basketball betting and viewing. Based on skeletal tracking data, the technology creates graphics and animations that create heat maps, animations, and performance metrics to power on-court storytelling for media and betting companies.
emBET: Initially launched on the NBA League Pass earlier this year, bettors can monitor their wagers on a vast array of devices.
Eric Conrad, executive vice president of rights and strategic partnerships – USA & Latam for Sportradar, said: “Sportradar is committed to deepening our longstanding partnership with the NBA, while also supporting betting operators and media companies in capitalizing on the immense global popularity of the league. Sportradar’s proprietary technology, underpinned by the application of powerful AI to deep data, continues to reimagine how fans interact with the NBA. We are excited by what the future holds, driven by our constant innovation.”
In a media briefing to unveil these enhancements, Sportradar representatives estimated that the NBA has more than 2 billion fans worldwide.
Senior Vice President, Fan Engagement Patrick Mostboeck said: “Modern fans engage with real-time, bite-sized content. Almost half of NBA fans view only portions of the game, which means we need to build our product to engage with those fans.”
The new suite of NBA products aims to do exactly that by putting fans in the driver’s seat.
“The bettor can take on the role of director by selecting a camera angle, looking at stats, or tracking ball trajectory,” said Blaz Zitnik, senior vice president of BET at Sportradar, speaking about the Virtualized Match Tracker. “They can manipulate any element of the stream.”
Customization opportunities abound in this product suite. Court branding and celebratory graphics—such as a blaze of flame when a three-pointer goes in—can be worked into the system to elevate a bettor’s experience.
It’s all powered by hundreds of thousands of data points fed through proprietary technology and AI software. Sportradar’s goal? “Redefine the standards of fan engagement and open up new revenue streams for the NBA and its partners and Sportradar clients,” the company wrote in its press release.
