Are resort’s days numbered?
Star City Casino in Birmingham, England will reportedly be sold, according to the iGaming Post. The price tag for the casino and entertainment complex will be in the £60 million ($US85 million) range, local media report.
The rumored sale price would constitute a loss for owner Cerbus Capital Management, which bought the property in 2006 for a reported £85 million (US$120 million). The Post report indicates the underperforming complex may be demolished. The 400,000-square-foot casino resort, which originally opened in 2000, includes a Genting casino, a movie theater, a Tenpin bowling alley, and indoor climbing center and gym, as well as retail outlets.
