Star Trek Bows Out for 2020

Trekkies will be disappointed to learn that after one postponement, Creation Entertainment has cancelled the annual “Star Trek” convention for 2020, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic. The event, rescheduled to December 9 to 13, will be pushed back to August 11 to 15 at the Rio, depending on whether the hotel is back in operation by then.

In 2021, the convention celebrates its 20th anniversary in Las Vegas. The year also marks the 5th anniversary of the series and the centennial of the birth of creator Gene Roddenberry, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Tickets for the 2020 event will be good for 2021. Or people can request a refund, as long as they do so by 3 p.m. Pacific Time on October 27. Contact customer.service@creationent.com, include the invoice number, convention name and city.
