Station Casinos Improving Sports Books

Pleased with public reaction to recent improvements to its race and sports book at the Red Rock Resort, Station Casinos announced it will make similar changes to race and sports books at five other properties as part of up-to $125 million in capital improvements Station Casinos has planned for 2016.

Rather than encourage sports bettors to remotely wager from smart phones, mobile devices, and online, Station Casinos is reworking its sports books to bring in more bettors.

Station Casinos last year upgraded its Red Rock Resort race and sports book by adding an ultra-high-definition video wall and LED displays, which proved very popular among bettors during the NFL and NCAA football seasons.

The each of its three new LED video displays measures 17 feet by 31.5 feet, and can be configured to show various sporting events on differing screen sizes.

With Red Rock’s improved race and sports book proving successful, Station Casinos Vice President of Race and Sports Books Art Manteris said five other properties will undergo improvements to their race and sports books.

Those properties are the Green Valley Ranch Resort, Palace Station, Boulder Station, Santa Fe Station, and Sunset Station, which will get new video gear, TV monitors at seating stations, and better betting displays.

Manteris says the goal is to drive betting at the improved sports books, and the improvements will be completed in time for the fall football season.

Boulder Station is the first to have the improvements completed, with the remodeled sports book opening in time for NCAA March Madness. Green Valley Ranch is scheduled to begin alterations after the tournament is done.

The improvements at its sports books are among up-to $125 million in capital improvements Station Casinos is undertaking this year.
