The long list of real estate transactions for Station Casinos throughout the Las Vegas Valley is continuing to add up, after the Henderson City Council approved the sale of 3.76 acres of city property to the local-centric casino operator for a total price of $1.75 million on December 14.
According to city records, the approval was necessary to finalize the transaction after the council originally accepted Station’s offer for the plot back in October.
The land is located in Henderson’s Inspirada neighborhood, next to an existing 45-acre development on which Station plans to develop a 600-room hotel and casino. The company first purchased the land all the way back in 2007.
The added space will now fill in a tooth-like gap in the casino plot, allowing Station to build more access roads surrounding the facility, per Scott Kreeger, president of Red Rock Resorts, Station’s parent company.
Kreeger sent a letter to Henderson city officials dated September 19 outlining Station’s plans for the location, which, in addition to the 600-room hotel, include 80,000 square feet of gaming space, an additional 30,000 square feet of convention space, dining options and other amenities.
The letter also mentioned that Station hopes to begin construction on the property in early 2024, to be developed in three phases.
In addition to the 3.76-acre sale, the city also authorized the purchase of a roundabout near the casino site from Station for $875,000, which will be converted to a signalized intersection.
Just weeks ago, the council also agreed to purchase the 35-acre site that used to be home to Station’s now-defunct Fiesta Henderson casino for approximately $32 million. Per city officials, the site will now be redeveloped into an indoor youth sports facility.
