Brothers Derek and Greg Stevens added three downtown Las Vegas properties to their growing gaming interests on Fremont Street.
The Stevens brothers bought the Glitter Gulch strip club, featuring its iconic Vegas Vicky cowgirl neon sign, and the Mermaids and La Bayou casino bars.
The brothers this month announced the transactions, and are expected to close the venues by the end of June, which were owned by Granite Gaming Group. The properties are located in close proximity to the Golden Gate and the former Las Vegas Club properties also owned by the Stevens Brothers, along with The D Las Vegas casino on Fremont Street.
Derek Stevens says it’s likely they’ll combine the property into a brand new hotel casino, but gave no hint about what the name, theme or shape of that project might be.
“This is where we have to go to work, so it would be premature for me to comment on one way or the other,” Stevens told the Las Vegas Sun. “Right now, we’re going to be doing some strategic thinking, and some creative thinking, and kind of go from there. But, obviously, the thought process is, with this substantially different footprint, it really lends itself to some substantial new construction.”
