Strip & Bet

This could be a first: a strip club in Las Vegas wants to open a sports book. The Hustler has filed an application with the Nevada Gaming Commission to become the first strip club to offer sports betting on the Las Vegas Strip. The club will even cover up its assets to get the license.

The Hustler strip club in Las Vegas has applied for a sports book license. If it wins approval from state gaming regulators, it would be the first strip club to receive a license in the state.

The license is so important to club owners, they have pledged to cover up their topless dancers in order to get it. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Hustler is willing to tell its entertainers to wear pasties or bikini tops so it can offer sports bets.

But that doesn’t mean the end of the fun for club patrons. Hustler would offer free lap dances for patrons who accumulate betting points, the Review-Journal reported. And customers would use hand-held devices so they could continue to bet during the lap dances.

“This is the future of sports gaming in Nevada,” said Deja Vu/Hustler entrepreneur Harry Mohney.

Hustler publicist Al Taylor said the management will “take it to the Supreme Court if we have to. We think this is what the public will demand.” Taylor added that the franchise would also establish strip club sports books in New Jersey if and when they are allowed.
