Study Finds About $18 in Unused Money in Average Dormant British Gambling Accounts

A study by BettingTips4You.com has found that on average, Brits leave about $18 in unused funds in dormant gambling accounts. As much as £53 million could be in all in unused British gambling accounts

It may not be a lot of money individually, but a recent study by BettingTips4You.com found that the typical dormant gambling account in Britain has about in unused funds in it.

The study showed that 32 percent of the 2,408 adults studied had an account on a gambling site. Of those who had accounts, 22 percent said it had been dormant “‘for a year or more.” Those percentages against the total British populations means 3,584,000 million Britons could hold a dormant account.

The average amount left in the accounts was £14.96. Against the national figures, that could mean there is more than £53 million in unused gambling accounts, the study said.

“We were surprised to see that so many Britons are prepared to abandon £15,” John Pentin, one of the study’s authors told Totallygamong.com. “Surely most of us wouldn’t turn it down, so why would you leave it in an online account to sit and gather virtual dust? You can withdraw the money into your bank account and use it, or you can place a bet, either way it’s better to use it and feel the value of it, instead of just forgetting about it altogether. Just because the money’s in an online account, doesn’t make it any less real.”
