Styren Resigns as LeoVegas Gaming CEO

The Swedish-based LeoVegas Group AB has announced the resignation of Johan Styren, current chief executive officer of its Malta-based subsidiary LeoVegas Gaming Ltd. A successor was not named in the announcement.

Johan Styren, chief executive officer of LeoVegas Group’s Malta-based subsidiary LeoVegas Gaming Ltd. announced he will resign the post at the end of June.

Styren joined LeoVegas Malta as CEO in 2012.

“When I started at LeoVegas in 2012 we had just launched and had no customers. Today we are market leaders,” Styren said in a press statement. “Since then, we have managed to build the world’s best mobile casino, added sports games and live casino, listed on Nasdaq First North and made LeoVegas one of the best gaming companies in the world. After more than five fantastic years, I feel it’s time to move on to new challenges.”

LeoVegas said they will not replace Styren and his directorial responsibilities will be absorbed into the existing organization.

“Johan has been very valuable to LeoVegas, primarily by being part of building our business in Malta,” Gustaf Hagman, co-founder of LeoVegas and group CEO said in the press release. “Johan has been part of creating what LeoVegas is today and I want to thank him for his amazing effort during his five years at LeoVegas. I wish him all the best in the future.”
