Clarion Gaming, producer of the ICE Totally Gaming series of trade shows, announced that former boxing champion Sugar Ray Leonard will speak at the inaugural ICE North America conference, slated for May 13-15 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
Leonard, an Olympic champion and the first boxer to win titles in five different weight classes before being forced into retirement by a vision-threatening eye injury, will provide a motivational address on May 14. Leonard oversees the Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation, which funds research for pediatric diabetes.
“His professionalism and athletic prowess combined with his charismatic personality and firsthand experience of life in the ring is sure to be a knockout for all our attendees in Boston this May,” said Event Director Rory Credland.
Since retiring from the ring, Leonard has worked as a television broadcaster for NBC, ABC, FOX, HBO and ESPN and now as part of the DAZN broadcast team, the live and on-demand sports streaming platform, providing ringside analysis for Matchroom Boxing.
