Suntrust Resort Holdings Inc., a unit of the Hong Kong-listed LET Group, has appointed former banking attorney Alvin C. Go to the company’s board of directors. Suntrust is now developing a $1.1 billion casino resort in Manila’s Entertainment City.
According to Inside Asian Gaming, Go is currently senior vice president and head of corporate compliance, legal services and the internal audit group of BDO Unibank, Inc. He was previously chief legal counsel of the Philippine National Bank, an associate attorney at Salonga, Ordonez, Yap, Corpuz, Padlan & Associates, and a prosecutor for the Department of Justice.
Go was elected to the board of directors during a special stockholders meeting on June 15. At the same meeting, shareholders approved plans to enter into a loan facility with China Banking Corp. for up to $446 million to complete the Manila resort. The property will include a 450-room hotel as well as a casino with 400 gaming tables and 1,200 slot machines. It’s expected to be finished in 2025.
