In its annual report released last week, Suntrust Resort Holdings said construction continues on its Manila hotel and casino project, which it expects to debut in 2024.
According to Inside Asian Gaming, the Philippines unit of Hong Kong gaming investor LET Group Holdings said the company does not expect financial problems to intervene, even though a January report indicated that it had failed to pay PHP336 million (US$6.2 million) in interest on bonds due to another investor, Summit Ascent Holdings. Per IAG, Summit Ascent is also majority-owned by the LET Group.
The Manila property will be part of the larger Westside City project by Westside City Resorts World Inc and Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. At completion, Westside City will be the fifth integrated resort (IR) in Manila’s Entertainment City casino zone, which also includes City of Dreams Manila, Newport World Resorts, Okada Manila and the Solaire Resort & Casino.
According to Business World, the project, being built by Megawide Construction Corp., will offer a 450-room hotel and a casino with 400 gaming tables and 1,200 slot machines.
