SuperBook, University of Denver Sign Deal

The SuperBook in Colorado signed a multi-year deal with the University of Denver. The agreement involves branding, media hospitality and social media, along with an emphasis on responsible gambling and education of the athletes. The deal with the college follows a partnership last year between the University of Colorado and PointsBet.

“As sports betting continues to become more and more of a passion for our fanbase, we felt that it was important to partner with a local company that we trusted,” said Karton Creech, vice chancellor for athletics at the university, recreation and Ritchie Center operations.

The fact that responsible gambling is a part of the early messaging is a positive sign.

Indeed, the National Council for Problem Gambling does not like these partnerships but throwing attention to responsible gaming is a good sign.

“There’s a great opportunity to have those same sorts of questions, which mainstreaming of this issue around college campuses, around deals like this,” Keith Whyte, the executive director for NCPG, told Play Colorado. “It creates an opportunity to sort of help raise awareness, but at the same time, help educate students on if you’re going to gamble, how to do so responsibly.”
